The derivatives of pyrimidines are the fragments of many biologically active and pharmacological important compounds with high antibacterial and antiviral activity. The three-componental condensation of various aromatic aldehydes, urea and aromatic ketones lead to the formation of hexahydropyrimido[4,5-d]pirimidine-2,7-diones. In presence of sulfuric acid we have investigated the three-componental condensation of benzaldehyde, urea and aliphatic ketone-acetone in acetic acid media. As the result the 4,10-diphenyl-1,3,7,9-tetraazaspiro[5.5]undecane-2,8-dione (С19Н20N4О2 · СН3СООН) has been synthesized. The crystal structure of the synthesized compounds has been proved by RSA and deposited in the Cambridge Structural Database (deposition number CCDC 822976). The use of pyrimidine derivatives explained the appearance of modifications of classical synthetic methods and the research for new methods, which provided the availability of the corresponding functionally substituted pyrimidines.
