In this work there is considered species «Lux, which containing in its composition of Frangula alnus barks, of Senna alexandria leaves, green tea, Solidago canadensis herbs, Salsola collina herbs, Glycyrrhiza glabra roots and Carum carvi fruits. Laxative action of «Lux» is due to the presence of anthracenderivatives contained in the bark of Frangula alnus and leaves of Senna alexandria. Given the significant specific weight in the composition «Lux» of components containing anthracenderivatives, exactly these substances have a laxative effect, the development of new approaches to standardization is important. The methodological approaches for standardization of laxative species «Lux» were developed on the base of results of chemical investigations of Frangula alnus barks. These approaches consist in the determination of anthracenderivatives by means of spectrophotometry at analytical wavelength 524 nm and using of frangulin A as standard sample. The contents of the total anthracenderivatives in species «Lux» are varied with 2.00 % to 2.13% (calculated on frangulin A).
